With Christmas drawing nearer, now is the time to go up into the attic and check out the state of your Christmas decorations after having packed them away last year. It's better to check them earlier than the day before you want to put them up!
Not only do you need to check to make sure that the damp has not affected your decorations and tree in any way, but also, it might be worth plugging your lights in the wall to see if they are still working OK. If they are not, at least it gives you plenty of time to buy some more led Christmas lights. If they are not working, or you think they perhaps do not look as good as they did last year, then a visit to a craft shop or other similar outlet should provide you with new decorations and lights.
In fact, a visit to a craft shop may inspire you to create decorations of your own. If you get the kids involved as well, making your own Christmas decorations can be a fun part of the build up to Christmas.
If you have made your own decorations, then remember to take photos of them for posterity's sake and keep them in the family photo album. A few years from now, your kids will appreciate being able to look back on the photos to see what they had created.
